What clinicians need to know about severe acute respiratory syndrom (SARS), case identification and treatment guidelines. Influenza prevention and control, pertussis in pregnancy, guidelines for immunization. Clincal cases are presented and discussed in light of current guidelines for management of SARS, smallpox and other serious infections public health threats.
Dr. Durchin is the Chief of the Communicable Disease Division, Seattle and King County Health Departments and is also on the faculty of the University of Washington Medical School department of Allergy and Infectious Disease in Seattle, Washington.
